You are making a certain type of cake that requires half a cup of water. Unfortunately, you only have one that fills up to 1 cup, and another that fills up to 3 quarters of a cup.
we have 2 cups one is full and other is 3/4, now fil the ful cup of water in first cup and pour it to 3/4 cup and remaining 1/4 water pour to container now pour 3/4 cup to first cup again fild water to 3/4 cup container and pour to first cup it wil pour 1/4 water to ful it now 1/2 cup remaining at 3/4 cup
since you are making a cake & you don’t need to have 1/2 cup in a container you can fill up the 1-cup & then pour that in the 3/4 cup and pour the remaining 1/4 cup in the bowl
